Your big sister and I were driving yesterday on our way to a Mother-Daughter Camping Trip for Girl Scouts when she said, "Wouldn't it be weird if we got the phone call right now that there was a baby for us to adopt?' I said, "Yeah, that would be crazy." She said, "What would we do?" I responded, "We'd go to the hospital."
Shortly after this conversation, I got slightly lost looking for the turn to the campground and needed to call for directions. Suddenly, I saw that there was a voicemail waiting for me. It was from Laurie, our case manager, who told us a birth mother had chosen us. She is due in July with a girl. Is it you?
We got all of the birth mother's information, including her application to the agency and her medical records. A friend of ours who was camping too is a nurse and she reviewed the records and thought the birth mother looked healthy.
So, we are excited to see if it's you, Baby. Daddy and I will discuss it a bit more this weekend and then hear about our next steps. We hope it is you.
